“Ricky Gervais is Full of Himself”

In Uncategorized on December 26, 2008 at 3:08 pm

Was reading Ricky Gervais’s Blog, and found this little gem of an entry.

During an interview in America recently the subject came up about me ad libbing in all my film roles and what it’s like for me not being in charge as usually I write and direct myself.

I explained that I’m usually taken on with that remit and I said that directors usually hire me knowing that I will bring something to the role. I said, “If they wanted someone to stand where they’re told and just say the lines as they’re written in the script then they should chose any other actor to do that.”

Obviously that was taken out of context by an english news site. i wont embarrass them as they are going to right the wrong, but this is the headline they went with. “Gervais admits he is the worst actor in Hollywood” Gervais admits he is the worst actor in Hollywood Brilliant. The thing that annoys me is this. They know exactly what they are doing. It’s not a mistake. It’s deliberate. The world would be a different place if things had always been like this.

Martin Luther King – “I have a dream.”
TheDailyShit.com – “Lazy black man always sleeping”

Jesus Christ – “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”
WeeklyRumour.co.uk – “Scruffy Jew starts riot”

Elizabeth I – “I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king.”
InternetCuntWhoCan’tGetArealJob.Net – “Scrawny cannibal lezzer eats own father”

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s headlines… Gervais says he’s as misunderstood as Dr. King. Virgin Queen and Son Of God.

I got a dog.

Did you keep your New Year’s Resolution?
I never make resolutions. V. boring, I know…

A new laptop on my collegiate desk.

What dates in 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
February 6-11 (Québec), August 1 (Breaking Dawn Prep), October 13 (Crab Feast), Spring Break Orch Trip, Nov. 4

What was your biggest achievement this year?
Practically curing my dog of separation anxiety.

What was your biggest failure?
Stopping my running schedule. Maybe that will be my New Year’s Revolution.

What was the best thing someone bought for you?
My iHome! The iPods are awesome…but it is the most useful thing in my life.

Where did most of your money go?
Black Friday shopping

What was your greatest musical discovery?

What did you do on your birthday and how old did you turn?
I turned 17 and I think my b-day was on a Friday or somemat. Umm…My friends brought me in some balloons, wonderful gifts, and a cake shaped like a golden snitch (chill as shit). Later that night, we had a sleepover at my house and we ate late night cake and enchiladas. Also watched Se7en, my favorite movie, and it scared the shit out of everyone. At like 3 am, went to sleep whilst watching Zoolander. That Sunday afterwords, went on a cruise with orchestra. A pretty chill birthday, I’d say!

What’s one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Definitely Warner’s Brothers not being greedy little bastards. Also, not everyone being so obsessed with Twilight.

Red velvet cake. Or like any of the food in Quebec. Especially Poutine.

What was the most valuable lesson you learned in 2008?
